Voice Activated Systems to Open Doors

A voice-activated door system can make opening doors as easy as saying a simple phrase. This article explains how such a system works. Voice recognition unit 61 discriminates registered words to decide whether a door should be locked or unlocked. Additionally, the stop signal will be sent to lines 104 and105 after a specific time. After the predetermined time, the stop signal from timer circuit 7 is generated.

The automatic door lock system can be configured to give a warning to passengers before the door is locked. The voice synthesizer 50 generates an audio signal which corresponds to the door being locked or unlocked. This audio signal is applied to the timer circuit 7 and to the voice recognition unit 61 to initiate the voice recognition operation.

The speech recognition unit 61 uses a set of parameters to identify speakers. The units use a back-off model in which the language of a speaker's speech is decomposed into multiple length n-grams. This is a common approach in hardware specialized processors (e.g. the RIPAC). It's the same technology used in 1990s consumer products, such as Dragon Dictate. AT&T introduced a service that routed telephone calls automatically in 1992.

After expiring a predetermined period of time, the Timer Circuit 7 generates a stop sign on lines 104 & 105

The door opener circuitry controls the automatic operation. A timer produces a stop signal on lines 104 and105 when a time limit has passed. This control signal is sent to the door opener's microcontroller and is used to set the automatic door opener's state. The timer can perform infinite number of operations. The control circuit is usually programmable.

The timer circuit 7 can be composed of an insulated wire-cable 41. It is recommended that it has a diameter of two inches. The insulating tubes prevent wire conductor 568 contacting a metal surface. This acts as a ground. The wire 590 could be either a flexible helix, or a suitable cable type insulator.

Voice recognition unit 611 is very useful for people with various disabilities. This technology is beneficial for people with disabilities as it can reduce the risk of repetitive stress injuries. People with dyslexia can benefit from voice recognition programmes. These devices recognize voices and can open doors for you. They can also serve other purposes, such as opening doors for speakers, searching key words or opening doors.
