Bizarre Cars in the Week

voice activated fridge

Here are some of the weirdest cars you can see in the world. This article will showcase some of most unusual cars ever produced, including the Suzuki X-90, Nissan Pulsar NX and the Hummer H2.

The Isetta

The Isetta was a unique car, and was known as a "bubble vehicle." The Isetta's bubble shape meant that there were no side windows. Its entire front ended hinged outwards to allow the driver to get in and exit. The Isetta had a single door that opened to reveal a seating area and two headlamps. They were located halfway up the body. The rear lights were attached under the bumper and the taillights were fixed in a normal manner.

The Suzuki X-90

The X-90 Concept Vehicle was introduced at 1993 Tokyo Motor Show. It was based off the chassis and design of the global Suzuki Sidekick. The X-90 was unique because it was a coupe-like body that has very limited off-road capabilities. Inside, there were two bolstered thrones on the X-90 and a small trunk.

The Nissan Pulsar NX

The Nissan Pulsar NX is one of those cars that could only have been born in the 1980s. The era was crucial for the car's distinctive styling. This week's Bizarre Car of the Week examines the strange design and quirky features of the Nissan Pulsar NX. Let's start by taking a look back at some of its most famous features.

Hummer H2

The interior of the Hummer H2 is a strange mix of comfort and industrial-looking features. The stereo and controls are small and large on the dashboard. However, the Hummer H2's lack of ground clearance makes it surprisingly comfortable. The dashboard is adorned with exposed bolt heads, making it feel even more strange. This odd combination is what makes the H2 a truly unique car.

Renault Avantime

Renault Avantime is an unusual car with a strange name. It was part-French and part-English portmanteau. Avant, which means before, and "time," meaning time. It meant "modern coupe" in essence. This is a fine meaning, but it doesn't allow for the car success. Avantime is an opposite, with a front like an animal and a back like a human. Charles Moss and others have called the car "a hideous fool".

Toyota Multipla

Multiplas are unusual looking cars if they've been seen. The windshield is slightly raised and the cluster of instruments in the middle aren't the most attractive design elements. Right-handed drivers will notice the doorcard is very thin. That's great for right-hand drive drivers, since it makes placing the Multipla on the road much easier.

How To

How to be an Automotive Technician

An automotive technician provides repair services and maintenance to vehicles. He/she works at car dealerships, auto shops, garages, service centers, etc. He/she helps customers fix their cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATVs, boats, lawn mowers, snowmobiles, tractors, trailers, farm equipment, planes, helicopters, jet skis, watercraft, bicycles, motorcycles, scooters, golf carts, etc. An automotive technician must have the ability to quickly diagnose and fix problems.

A person who wants to work as an automotive technician should first obtain an associate degree from a vocational school. After completing the program, he/she must take the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence certification exam. ASE stands for American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Two sections make up the ASE certification examination. The first section tests your mechanical skills, while the second tests your practical knowledge. You will need to attend an authorized testing site in order to pass the test. These locations are available online or through your local automotive dealer.

After passing the exam, a candidate must take a state exam before being licensed as an automobile technician. This process can vary depending on where the applicant lives. Some states require that candidates attend training courses, while others permit them to learn independently. Some states allow technicians to become licensed right away after receiving their license. While others wait until they have had at least six years of experience as an automotive technician.

To become an automotive technician, one must apply at a local dealership. Once hired, most new employees start out working as apprentices. Apprenticeships typically last three years. During this time, a student learns how to perform basic repairs, such as changing oil, adjusting brakes, replacing tires, cleaning spark plugs, inspecting engine compartments, and performing routine maintenance. Some students are taught how to repair engines and replace transmission fluids. Classes are offered by most schools during regular business hours. Some schools also offer evening classes, if necessary.

Once a student completes his/her apprenticeship, he/she becomes a journeyman. Journeymen spend typically four to five years learning to install major systems such as transmissions and differentials, steering gear, suspensions and drive shafts. They learn how to do complex repairs such as remanufacturing engines, rebuilding transmissives, and troubleshooting electronic components. Many employers prefer hiring journeymen because they know the job well and understand what the customer expects.

If a candidate successfully passes the required exams and receives a license, he/she might want to consider starting his/her own shop. The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that there were nearly 1.7 million jobs available for automotive mechanics in 2010. The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicted that this number would rise by 18% from 2009 to 2020. A candidate who plans to open a shop should expect to spend many thousands of dollars on equipment and supplies.

The salary for an automotive technician depends on several factors, including the type of employer, location, education level, and experience. A jobless person could make an average of $20,000 annually. Someone with only a high school diploma could earn around $21,000 per year. A bachelor's degree is equivalent to approximately $24,000 annually. Technicians with a bachelor's degree earn about $27,000 per annum. Master's degree holders make around $32,000 annually. Salary increases can be common. A professional who earns less that $30,000 today could reasonably expect a $40,000 increase in the next few decades.
